New Bps Crankin Stick Micro Guide

Featured Replies

Found out why the original BPS Crankin stick was low on model options. They have a new model they are preselling on site that has micro guides. Price is raised up a bit from original Crank Stick

They really do man. I'm gonna have to order me one for sure. They also went away from the powergrip handle which was a big complaint for some people.

They are nice looking, but for that much I'm going with a Abu Veritas II Winch in a sec. In the $120 range there are so many options.  I do like BPS reels you can't beat the price on them.

Have you guys seen the Berkley E-motion rods for $79?  I'd like to hold one before buying.  Berkley's action seems to be on the light side.  They look really nice though.  Oh, and I'm new to this site..I forgot to share that.

The only Berkley rod I'd use is the lightning shock. That thing is a workhorse rod. Not the most sensitive but a good deal for the price point. I have an original Veritas gen 1 7'H for frogging. It's alright but the rest of my rod's are Carbonlites and ***'s. I'd go with the BPS Crankin Stick just for the simple fact that I've never had an issue and have loved all my BPS rod's. Just my personal preference. I'd rank it right up there with my ***/*** reel combo. Although I am gonna get another one of those as well!

I have yet to get a Carbonlite rod, but I do have last year's Carbonlite reel in the flat gray finish.  It is solid as a rock.  I have the new Extreme Lite too..it is junk, but I have taken it apart and supertuned it and its 100% better now.

I am a BPS rod/reel guy. I have PQ, both the old style gold Carbonlites which were awesome and I have the new flat black Carbonlites which are great reel's as well. About to get the new white Carbonlite they just put up on the site. The only reel I don't have is the Johnny Morris Sig series. Those are the only three reel's that interest me from BPS.

I had the PQ Tournament reel in the black cherry looking finish, but sold it.  I regret it now they are hard to find.  That was the smoothest reel I've ever owned by far.  I'm afraid the new white Carbonlite might chip real easy.  I have one white reel and the paint chips super easy.  I am thinking about the new Carbonlite reel on a Veritas II rod..nice

No I haven't.  However, during communications with a fellow member about decent rods in the $80 range, he mentioned having a friend who bought one for his son's birthday.   His friend said it is pretty impressive, much better than the Lightning rods.  My friend feels this guy is very honest in his assessment of tackle and likes higher end stuff so if this guy is impressed, then it is a decent rod.

Thanks for the info on the Berkley rod.  The Lightning & Lightning Shock rods are super heavy for today's standards.

Have any idea when stores will have them in stock?

I like the new look. Does seem that Clunn had some input on em. I've been looking for the old style BPS Crankin stick 7' M and 7' MH for awhile. Online and in the flea market here and no luck. Looks like I'll have to go with the new one..

I have three crankin' sticks and love them all. The 7' M, 7 MH', and 7'11" MH.
