I'm Learning Soft Plastics?????????

Featured Replies

I'm learning how to pour soft plastics and I have a question? If I'm pouring two or three color baits, if I pour one color then pour second so on and so on if the plastic starts to set up and stiff a little will the other hot plastic bond to the plastic that's already setting up. Sorry this may seem like a stupid question but before I waste plastic thought I ask the pros! Thanks everyone for your help

It will stick if you hit it right.  If you wait too long it won't.  If you pour too quickly the colors will mix.  It is a touchy procedure.  Air temps, humidity, plastisol temps all have a role in this so it is just a trial and error thing.  Sometimes it will work great and other times it won't.  The ones that don't suit you can be remelted and made into darker colors.

Jigman is right.

Start simple and learn the ins and outs. I would not reccomend three colors for a beginner.
