Have any of you fished this lake recently? How's the fishing down there? I'll be staying down there  (Castaic Ca) in a couple of weeks looking for some recent reports? Thanks.

If you're staying down in Castaic , then fish Lake Castaic.  I haven't been to piru in about a year and from what i understand they don't even launch boats there anymore.  Go to castaic , its closer too.   if you gotta  fish from shore, fish to the right of the launch

Piru is down about 50' and that is significant considering it's only 90' deep, about 1/3 rd it's full pool size.

Bass fishing is OK, no rental boats available.

Castaic lake, the upper lake is down about 150', this lake is 300' deep at full pool. Rental boats are available on the upper lake. Bass fishing is OK on the upper lake.

Castaic lower lake or lagoon is down about 10' and not an issue. No rental boats are available, thr bass fishing is OK.
