Frog Shelf Life

Featured Replies

Call me stupid but I've had a recent obsession with top water frogs and went on a buying spree when there was a sale. I figured I would just get a bunch as they are not easy to come by in my area, but now I am wondering how long my "spares" will last? Does the rubber eventually get hard or start to deteriorate? I hate to think that I'm just buying frogs that won't be useful to me in the future because they've become unusable.

Thanks!

Keep them inside in the AC and they will last a long long time. Think about how long some baits sit on a shelf at big box stores warehouse, then back rooms, then shelves.

You'll be fine.

I actually like an older frog.  I put them on the dash of my truck.  Seems to soften the plastic body a bit.  Or, maybe I'm crazy, and just like frogs on my dash.

As long as the frog is contained well and out of the elements it should do just fine. If you ask me how many fish a frog can handle before you have to retire it I will tell you its around 40-60 quality bass.  :eyebrows:

That's true. In our case down here in South Fl, one big gar, mudfish (bowfin), or Snakehead and the frog is a goner. LOL!!
