I'm going to be in naples next weekend and will have the opportunity to fish 1 day. Any advice of where to go?

Should I make the journey to okeechobee?

Is there any peacock fishing close by?

Any recommendations on lure selection or what the bass are relating to?

Any help will be much appreciated.

No peacock fishing in that area. You'll need to drive over to Dade county to really get into Peacock area.

If you're willing to make the trip, Okeechobee is always fun. I'd invest in a guided trip to make the most out of your day. It's a bit of a trip from Naples. Could be worth it though.

So. Florida Bass addict is 100% correct go south young man, the further the better for peacocks. Spend the bucks and get a good guide. Okeechobee has been good recently, hire a guide if you go.

Contrary to what you're hearing here, there are plenty of peacock bass in the Naples area. While they may not be as plentiful and/or as big there are many locations in the surrounding area with them.

The Golden gate canal system has plenty of them, follow the link...the map is on the bottom of the page. This location marked happens to be at a FREE City Park, while there is some shoreline to fish. I would recommend expanding your fishing in that canal system by using Google Maps. Any bridge, culvert or bend in the canal can be a great place to try fishing.

Leave your plastic baits at home for the peacock bass, although that system has some pretty good largemouth in it as well. Small hard jerkbaits, 2" to 3" in length, shad color or loud colors like firetiger both work. This is sometimes hard to tell until you start fishing and see the color of the water. Small topwater baits as well, remember to stay small as all the bait in the area is that way.

Yes, okeechobee is a great choice...but not so much from the shoreline!

Tight lines!

This is correct. I've caught peacocks out of golden gate canal. Not giants but still fun.

There's also a park in Naples with a small

Lake or big pond. I've never been there but it looks like it has plenty of bank access.

Lake Trafford just out of Naples has recently been cleaned up from decades of being clogged by weeds.  They have reported bass upwards of 9#'s this summer.  Its a lot closer than Lake O and has less boat traffic.
