Stradic Ci4+ Or Ballistic Ex?

Featured Replies

Want to know if anyone has been able to compare these two side by side. It's down to these two for me. The one I choose will be used mostly for bass, but will see some use for light inshore fishing from time to time. Will probably go with the 2500 size. Thanks in advance for any info you guys can provide!

Like to see the responses, as well. The EX is so new, not sure many have had a chance to fish one.

Both read like excellent reels, hard to see you go wrong with either one.

I was also debating between the two. Ended up getting the Ballistic at a hell of a deal (I believe it was a markdown error at my local shop).

I haven't got to use it much other than one day. Caught one walleye with it in the river. I honestly think you can't go wrong with either reel. I've always been a Shimano guy, and so far, I'm very impressed with this reel. I got the 2000 size, primarily for crappie and for finest bass presentations.

I don't think you can go wrong either way. I prefer Shimano's line management with the propulsion spool. Another thing to consider, if you work on your own reels at all, the Daiwa has magseal; you have to send it in to be serviced.

Don't have an opinion of either reel but I would consider the 3000 size if you plan on doing any inshore fishing.
