Hello all, I have been thinking about custom making my own rods and was just wondering if anyone had some good guides/advice/places to get quality parts. Also what kinds of parts I should use. I realize that this is pretty broad, and I am starting with zero experience. any advice is welcome!

Hey Bizzo Listen to Alpster he wrapped me a rod, and it is beyond my wildest dreams. Fletchero is also a great builder and both will help you

Check out mudhole. They have a website, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here??? They are located in central Fl. Another good place is Custom Tackle. They also have a website and they are out of Tenn. Both are very helpful if you have questions and can guide you in the right direction.

Another place you should check out would be the rod builders guild. They also have a website. Just do a search. They have a forum and are very knowledgeable.

good advice already posted.   I would suggest a little reading and then post with any specific questions to suit your needs.  There are a handful of us here that would be happy to help out once you narrow down what you are looking to do.  Also, look back through the older threads, there are lots of threads on building and each individual aspect of it.

One caution... it is a full blown addiction!
