I Am A King Wazer Again

Recommended Posts

I am a King Wazer!

A number of months ago my iPhone froze during a WAZE update and I had to start all over again to get up to the level of King Wazer. Finally got the rank of King Wazer on Tuesday of this week.

What is WAZE?

It is a system developed by the Israelis and bought by Google for your cell phone to warn you about accidents, traffic jams, locations of police, weather conditions, construction, vehicles on the shoulder and a number of safety situations in front of you.

The app is free.

If you drive a lot you need the WAZE system to warn you of hazards and so you can warn others.  When you trailer your boat to the ramp you can use the WAZE system.

Yesterday on I-95 my WAZE alerted me to a state police car ahead of me so I slowed down to 68 and watched an out of state car zoom by me going at least 80.  Sure enough, the state trooper pulled out in front of me and chased down the culprit. I was going 75 and may or may not have been nailed by the trooper but knowing she was there made me back off the speed.

Only problem with WAZE is that it will eat up your phone battery so you may want to get a ProClip Holder or keep your phone plugged into an electrical outlet.

Give WAZE a try and I think you will like it.

I had it on my old phone, haven't reinstalled on the new one. I liked it for the most part on long trips, can get annoying though with the "car parked on the side of the road" type alerts.

or you can just drive at a normal speed like a normal person and that really works out well for me....

as far as the accidents ahead, road blocked, traffic, etc. just use google maps (has the waze data integrated) and be done with it.

However, if fools were using apps less and the steering wheel more, i feel that the accidents, traffic, road blocks, etc. would be greatly reduced.

Brian, you can tell who drives in their careers and who doesn't.

Wish everyone would obey the speed limits but that won't happen.

You don't play with the WAZE app. You listen to it and glance at it from time to time.

And yes, unless you turn the phone's volume down you will  be informed of road hazards, road blocks and accidents ahead.

Question for buzzed:  Do you suggest the Google app on the cell phone?  I have a Tom Tom and can't seem to get any other apps on it other than Tom Tom maps. Thanks.

i moved to atlanta almost 2 years ago and the traffic here is just unreasonable to say the least.  basically everyday before taking off, i check the google maps app and get an idea of the best way home.  typically, i go the same way, but 1 out of 5 days it will suggest a different route to save time.

had i gone my normal route yesterday, it put the drive at 49 minutes with traffic (should be 21 mins without).  however, a different route that i rarely take was running 34 minutes, so i saved about 15 minutes off the trip by checking prior to leaving.

google maps is great (although big brother scary) because it calculates traffic based on the number of other users of the app in the area and their current rates of speed.

i highly recommend it for plotting a route, but not to mess with while driving.

Still prefer Waze and will reinstall when I need it. Keeps you up to date while you drive. Checking before leave is good but no updates. Living in the DC area the traffic is horrid any help is good.
