Y guards

Featured Replies

I am planning on making pouring jigs my winter project this year - I have a friend that has been making his own for years and he recently gave me a whole box of some that he made.  Roughly half of them have a Y guard rather than the traditional brush guard.  Is there an advantage in this?  Just curious what your thoughts are.

Easier, better hook penetration... less snag proof...

Wood=brush guards

Weeds=Y guards

Just my opinion...

First time you miss a fish and come in with the Y guard on the hook point you will know the difference. :;)
