I am headed down to lake casitas ca in a week and wondered were I could go in my small boat... I will be launching from the marina. thanks for any input!!

Stay away from the parking lot & concession stand, areas with water will be much more productive.

 

As noted in the Silliest comments thread, be careful not to go anywhere where it is 50 feet or deeper, your small boat may not be able to handle it.
