With either a 20HP or 40HP outboard. Will be mostly just two people fishing out of it and sometimes just one. I want something easy to pull and easy to maintain as a first bass boat. I want aluminum because all of the mountain lakes are relatively small with lots of stumps and rock (In Southern WV).

 

For around $10,000, it doesn't seem like there is much of a better bargain out there. Money is tight as well so I don't have 20 or 30K to throw out there on a big rig.

 

Anyone have this boat? Any thoughts?  

Good place to start - look around - there  are other companies out there that have similar starter boats for similar prices.  When I got my last boat (2002)  I liked the Lowe WF 180 better than the similar sized BPS offering, mostly because it was made out of sturdier metal.   For me, the number one choice in which boat to get was which dealer was closer and which one did I interact with better.  The other thing that made a difference for me was that I was dead set on getting a Yamaha 4 stroke motor and that was unavailable on the BPS and Crestliner boats that were available to me at the time.

Hi RHuff. Welcome to BR. I have the boat you are asking about. My number 1 and 2 suggestion for this boat is to max out the HP and TM. So a 40 HP and #55lb thrust TM if you are going 12 volt, will really maximize the boats attributes. There is an ongoing thread on this topic as well.
