Diawa Rod

Featured Replies

I'm looking to get a travel rod and I've been looking at the Diawa Ardito-TR travel casting rod because of mainly just the name and the 5 year warranty, but cabbalas has a travel rod for about the same price with a 25 year warranty but i feel like i would have more problems with the cabelas one so I'm not sure which one

anything helps

thanks, tight lines

The ardito is on my radar also! The reviews claim the rod has flexible joints to make the rod more parabolic. I've owned a few travel rods (loomis escape and shimano v rod) and the heavier action rods all seem to have stiff flat spots where the joints are. Not so much a problem (for me) with the lighter stuff. Let us know what you end up with and give it a review.

I bought an Ardito to keep in my truck for those 'just-in-case' fishing stops. I've only fished it twice, but will say it feels like most of my other rods, whether they're 1 or 2 piece.

Each piece has ribs around the contact points that make for good grip when putting it together.

I haven't fished it enough to evaluate it's sensitivity. For now I'll put it somewhere between my Fenwick Silver Hawk and Abu Garcia Vendetta.

I like the case, but wouldn't check it as baggage on any airline. The case also has an adjustable strap on it which I've used to fasten to my tackle backpack.

Overall I'd say it's build quality is excellent and worth the $129.
