Cane River

Featured Replies

Anybody been there lately? If so, what are the conditions and did the fish bite? And if it's not asking too much...what type of lure were you getting bit on..or not getting bit on?

Hoping to get up there this coming week and looking for a starting point.

Cane river in Natchitoches? If so, I had a buddy up there today. Water is high, muddy, and 47 degrees...good luck is all I can say lol

Will be hitting Cane River Saturday March 7. A yearly fishing trip we do with a group of guys at my buddy's house on the river. Should be on fire by then.

Any advice for fishing cane river now?

We didn't catch many. 4 boats had I think 9 fish. Thousands of dead and dying 2" shad all over and the bass were gorging on them. They should be in the reeds by this weekend with the warmer weather. We flipped reeds and backed off secondary grass line and boated ours there. A-rig and shackyhead trick worm seemed to be what they wanted.
