Going For It

Featured Replies

Well, I'm heading out this am with one of my boys, maybe both. Going to stay close to home, unless my buddy in Gloucester calls me, then we may head up that way. We're just hoping to have a good time, and possibly bring home dinner... We'll be ecstatic with just a nibble, LOL

Well, we got skunked, and stuck in a yard that was heavily saturated. No pan fish for dinner, and no bass for fun, but I made some memories with the kiddos.

Did you hit Beaverdam Lake?

You have good parking, bathrooms and a nice dock to fish for bream, bluegills and bass.

And if you are lucky the big Herron will join you, looking for a meal.

The pier is down Roaring Spring Road off Main Street in the Courthouse area.

There is also a small ramp and pier off Route 17, but the nicest place to fish from the bank is at Beaverdam Park.

Thanks Sam!!! I've heard of it, but never been there. My buddy, couldn't fish yesterday, so I kept it local. I am definitely going there, hopefully one day this week. I grew up on bluegill, perch, crappie, pike, and catfish, in Michigan. We loved it, and learned a lot. Again, thanks Sam, I'll be sure to give it a whirl....
