Hello guys!

This is my first time fishing outside of Florida. Anybody have any tips or spot recommendations? Any help will be appreciated!! Thanks guys

dress warm this time of year, may be 50 or 60 one day, may be less than 10 the next.

i have never fished there, but i think kerr scott reservoir is the closest lake from there.  that or lake james, but lake james is down right tough.  there's a few guys on here from the morganton/hickory area that may chime in and point you in the right direction.

No body goes to Boone unless they have to.

 

Actually, Boone is a nice place with some interesting shops on Main Street.

 

And then you have giant killer Appy State on the hill.

 

As for fishing, I have no idea.

 

Let us know what you find out and how you do so we all can plan to visit Boone, North Carolina.

You have the South Fork of the New River and the Watauga River starts in Boone on Grandfather Mountain.  The closest large body of water is probably Either Watauga lake(in TN) or Kerr Reservoir (near Wilkesboro).  Wilson Creek is not far away and holds one of NC's trophy water trout sections.
