Bajno Minnow is it the real deal

Featured Replies

i have seen alot of stuff on t.v. on the banjo minnow but have never fished it. just want to see if any of yall have fished the banjo before and want are the pros and cons. thanks

alot will say dont buy anything from tv but id say the banjo is one of the few that actually is a decent lure and works

Most people here would rather tie on an actual Banjo...  Really though it is no better than any other mediocre bait.  It will catch some fish, but it should never be considered the BE ALL END ALL of fishing baits like the commercials say.  It is just OK.  You can get a lot more for your money by spreading it around to a few different styles of fishing lures - go buy some soft plastic worms, a couple of cranks, a buzz and a spinner for the money you would spend on a Banjo Fishing kit and you'll do much better.

The Slug-Go came out in the mid-80's - - the Banjo Minnow is little more than somebody's attempt at repackaging and marketing one of the most successful lure types in existence.

Go pick up some Slug-Go's instead.......they still work just as well now as they did back then.

An old fishing partner brought a flying minnow kit from tv on a trip with me.  I gave him a pretty good dose of cra* for buying them and he proceeded to whip my rear using them.  So when we went to the boat show together and he bought a bunch of those wind up poppers that had the wiggling tails I fell in line and got some too.  Took them to the lake but was too ashamed to use them.  Still have a couple somewhere.

The banjo minnow has definitely produced BIG time for me. But, I suppose it will work the same as a weight-less Slug-Go or Fluke. I have a lot of confidence in the Banjo Minnow though because it is always on a rod!

Go a few pages back in Fishing Tackle, there's a 3 or 4 page thread about this same thing.

The banjo minnow does work, especially when there's schools of feeder fish that the bass are feeding on (Only time I've consistently caught fish with it).

I have a few 4-6 pounders from it.

But as many say, it's no better then anything else on the market.

This one seems to resurface all the time. Yes, it's the real deal the only infomercial lure that does what it says catch fish.
