Places To Fish From Shore In Boca Raton?

Featured Replies

Hey there guys. I am from NH and am going down to Boca Raton for 10 days in March. Looking to see if I can get in some fishing down there. I have no boat so everything would have to be from shore so I was thinking hitting up maybe some of the local golf course ponds and even some of the Canals like the C-15 and such. If anyone has any info as to where I should fish down there that would be great.

I'll give you two things to try.  Yes, the C15 and surrounding waters are fishy.  If you look at Google Earth find where Congress Ave crosses the C15.  There are some townhouses and commercial buildings on the west side of Congress.  There is a running and bike trail that runs along the C15 and then turns south.  I would walk that southern part and chuck flukes, unweighted senkos and small spinnerbaits.  It is pretty shallow and weedy but does not get much fishing pressure.  You may have to search for a legal place to park up near C15.  Worst case, park at Costco on Congress and walk a block to that El Rio canal and fish toward the north.

Another easy place to fish is Glades Road and the Turnpike.  Fish the canal that runs along Boca Rio Road.  You can pull over and park anywhere along Boca Rio Road.  This is a typical canal with heavy weeds on the shoreline and a sharp drop off.

Good luck!

If you fish these canal banks, wear boots! I have walked up on snakes many times along these banks especially if there is a lot weeds in the water, along the bank. Better safe then sorry.

x2 for Glades rd and the turnpike. That is a good spot to catch peacock bass also. Try throwing a topwater torpedo or suspending jerk bait.

There are lots of spots for bank fishing at Prince Park on Lake Osborne.  It is close to West Palm Beach Airport. I have fished it several times from the bank and in the boat.  Look for current flowing into the main lake over by the camping area.

Boca Rio is one place I won't fish anymore, too close to the water and I don't trust those snakes.

At the El Rio, just south of the c-15  you can park in an office complex and just walk across Congress, or fish it walking back up the c-15.  You can also park at Park Commerce Blvd along side the canal just north of Yamato.
