I currently have a lowrance Elite 4x and it only has down scan and regular sonar.  Just curious if anyone would know if this thing would be worth the 299

I've owned all humminbird units and hate them. Once I get in a new boat it's going to be lowrance for me. Seen the new helix's at local shop and it's nothing impressive... same technology as the old humminbirds in a different package. Waste.

All of the reviews I've read on the helix have been great. I'm planning to get the si model later this year.

The helix units seem to be a great value.

I have one and it's a nice little unit ,It's the S/I model...

Get Lowrance elite 5 hdi combo as they are dumping since introducing the more expensive CHIRP technology.

 

An associate at BPS told me that he learned at their BPS University where all associates go to learn about new products BPS will sell, that to get real CHIRP quality, you need a real CHIRP transducer for about $2k !!  

 

Anyone heard this?

So which unit is worth looking at. As I am in the market for one right now. Need help selecting one. I understand the gold model has ontario lake maps as well included
