PLastic womr molds

Featured Replies

Can anyone help me out with some instructions on how to make my own worm molds out of plaster or bondo.  I am interested in starting to pour my own lures.  I just want to try it out of some molds that i make before I spend some serious money on aluminum molds.

Plaster.. Buy some plaster of paris.. whatever you want to use. Some aluminum baking pans. Mix it up, pour it in the baking pan about 1 1/2" thick, place whatever plastic you are copying firmly into the plaster. When it's dry, take out the plastic, coat the mold with some epoxy/paintbrush. If you want a two sided mold, do the same thing, but stick some popsicle sticks or paint mixers on two side of the mold. After you wait for the first side to dry, place some aluminum foil around the edges and sides. Pour more plaster over. Use a screwdriver or something similar to pry apart the two sides after the whole thing drys and be careful not to break it.
