Begginers Questions?

Featured Replies

Making fishing tackle has always interested me, but I have never been taught how to do so, or even have a clue where to start. I was thinking about making plastic baits, but im not sure how much needs to go into it,  and/or the process of doing so. I have access to my own garage, (a pretty big one)  and fishing is my main hobby when im not working,  so it seems I can get pretty bored out in the country when I cant be on the water,  I dont see a better way of spending some time than making some lures,  If someone could point me in the right direction I would really apreciate it.. And yes, Im more than willing to invest enough money into this to make Qaulity tackle ofcourse.

If you spend a little time doing some research on this site and www.tackleunderground.com you will come up with all the info you need.

Also look at places like Netcraft and Barlows to see what materials they have.  You will need some molds, plastisol, dye, and a way to heat the plastisol.

Justin as jigman mentioned netcraft is how i just started.  I requested a catalog.  Now netcraft is $600 dollars richer ;D

Even if you starting out on repaints its not cheap. The rewards are nice when you see a good job completed and for relaxing for a couple of hours. Listen to the guys advice on here and do it right the first time and you will save a lot of money that way.
