Older Lures I've Came Across

Featured Replies

Going through old tackle boxes I've bought at yards sales and what not. This is what I've found in one. Not sure the value or if these even have any but thought they were cool. Previous to this site I trashed older lures thinking nobody would want them. Definitely a huge mistake. But here's the goodies from #1 and more pics on the way.

Not old enough to be worth more than good lures to fish with.

Yeah, they are alder but not really old, there is a Yum Dancin' eel, and some Rebel minnows along with some bomber cranks with the oldest being the Hellbender.  The HellBender I'd keep in the box because it is the old style box.

It's not even a collecter's item, but I came across a Mirrolure lipless crankbait imbedded in the mud at my pond the other day. Cleaned it up, found out it's from the 1980s. Pretty cool lure to me.

Keep the Hellbender for sure. Especially because of the box. Sometimes the box is more valuable than the lure!

I have some antique lures made in the 40s and 50s.

Seven are in a frame in my "cave."

The others are in one of my fishing drawers, safe and sound.

Just keeping them so I can play with them from time to time.

Their days in the water are over.

I bought an old Cotton Cordell Spot at an antique place from the 60's or 70's.  Put some new hooks on it, caught a fish the first time I used it.

Wait...wait!  There could be  a lot more goodness in this lot.... are them brown cranks Wiggle Warts? bill will be stamped if pre-rapala wiggle warts and worth anywhere from 15-50 bucks depending on shape and color rareity
