Devils Kitchen??

Featured Replies

Anyone on here ever fish devils kitchen around the southern illinois region? I'm looking for different bass lakes i can try this summer. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It has been a few years, but yes I did use to fish it.  Let me know what you know about it or need to know and I can try to elaborate.

Devils kitchen is full of standing timber and I mean full, you can sit on a treetop in 60 ft. of water or 10 ft., the only area without timber is the dam area and northwest coves, depending on the water level  a lot of the timber is 24-4 inches under the surface so polarized glasses, and good boat control are a must to not spend all day trying to get off a tree. It is good fishing but infertile so there are a lot of small fish 13-14 inches and it's encouraged to take them out (no size limit), but there is also the other extreme a fish or 2 over 10 pounds are taken there every year. Full of grass, very clear, and below average boating traffic for down here.
