  3. I could pull my boat down, but prefer not, looking for fishing holes around the horseshoe resort that i can either bank fish or possibly rent a boat, maybe even pay a guide etc. any ideas greatly appreciated.
  4. We've landed a lot of big fish this year 4+,I always hate to see the spawn pass, now we have to work harder to find the hogs. That said here's a couple of our better fish from the last month or so 1'st one is 6.59 2'nd one 6.09 You can contact me at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Scott-Bass-McCree/194871783870083
  5. In the 30's last night started out slow rolling spinnerbaits, by the end of the day they were blasting out of the weed beds for buzzbaits.
  6. Nice fish slone.
  7. Do any of you guys night fish, if not your missing out. These are from last night, hard to get get pics at 12:30 the biggest was about 4 we put back about a dozen over 2 lbs. and yes before anyone starts I do like to eat Bass but at most I may only keep 5% of what I catch over the year and from select lakes.
  8. I can understand your frustration I had the same type of incident with high school tournament fisherman last year, pulled up right in front of me on a wind blown point like I was going to turn around and let them have it. lol They don't know me well, I just kept moving in their direction, they couldn't control their boat in the wind found some rocks with the trolling motor trying to avoid me cause I was gonna leave a Dale Earnhardt rub mark for them to remember me. As for tournament pressure I'm glad I have Crab Orchard USFWS limiting the big tournaments to 3 a year. 10 Years ago I loved to fish the Lake of Egypt, now I only night fish it, I've never seen so many tournaments on a lake 2-3 tournaments EVERY Sat.-Sun.
  9. It was little grassy we had 3.2 inches of rain the day before. Fishings been hot there the last few years, and the fishing and hunting is only reason I still live in southern Illinois, lord knows I could make much better money and pay less taxes someplace else.
  10. Got out Saturday we they were biting good on spinnerbaits and jigs, my son hooked up with a couple pigs.
  11. Anyone on here from around the Carbondale area, if not I'm sure some of ya have fished down here.
  12. Little Grassy has been hot the last couple years. Cedar lake is always good too.
  13. I live in the Carbondale Il. area and I'm looking for a new partner or 2 if anyone is interested.
  14. Devils kitchen is full of standing timber and I mean full, you can sit on a treetop in 60 ft. of water or 10 ft., the only area without timber is the dam area and northwest coves, depending on the water level a lot of the timber is 24-4 inches under the surface so polarized glasses, and good boat control are a must to not spend all day trying to get off a tree. It is good fishing but infertile so there are a lot of small fish 13-14 inches and it's encouraged to take them out (no size limit), but there is also the other extreme a fish or 2 over 10 pounds are taken there every year. Full of grass, very clear, and below average boating traffic for down here.
  15. Need more information, what's small 500 acre or 50 and are you boat fishing or bank.
