Every once and awhile I do get to chase the smallies there . Unfortunately I haven't made it to Powerton yet this year . Just got a new lake (50 acres) to fish , so I've been hitting that . Plus it's only 5 minutes from home .

Hey guys I'm actually in the city of Chicago.

Where have you been fishing lately? I have been doing well at Mazonia, caught my 2nd and 3rd PB there this year.

Hey Uncle Leo, I really haven't been out since school started again. First year of Pharmacy school and all I've been up to is studying.

I really didn't fish around here much this year. We kept our boat in Michigan once those gas prices shot up. If I were gonna be going out I'd be hitting the Cal Sag or Lake Michigan.

Well if you find time send me a PM maybe we can get out together. I usually fish Mazoina for a quick outing. Had 30 bass days and always kill the skunk. If the back of the boat is open your welcome to join in.

Thanks I appreciate the offer. I'm not sure I'll be able to join you any time soon as they seem to feel tests back to back are a terrific idea and that's gonna continue till around December. Maybe we can get something going in the spring. I haven't been to Mazonia in probably over 8 years now.

Which lake are you hitting? We alays used to go to monster I think.

Ponderosa is much better, have not been on Monster but once this year. Fished Pondo at least 8 times.

Fished Pondo (very clear water) a couple of weeks ago......not one fish. :)

Plan on going back this weekend and trying a couple of different techniques. Maybe we will see you out there sometime.

Glad to see some other Illinois guys on this website.

Try working the banks, they are undercut and the bass tuck up under the reeds. Fish adjacent to deep water for now but soon the will be up in the shallows as the were in spring. I may be out there on Saturday. Look for a White and Green Nitro and say hi.

Central Illinois is not that far away. I fish Sanchris and Shelbyville a couple of times a year. I am sure you might not be that far. All we have to do is want it.
