Featured Replies

I live in Litchfield, Illinois and we boast Lake Lou Yaeger. I am mainly a farm pond boy as I have no boat. Anybody in my immediate area?

Kinda rough weather in northern IL today but I've been on this 3-day weather pattern the last couple weeks (fishing the 3rd day of warm day/warmish night trend) and today is the target day. I decided

Hey guys, I just joined and started going through the forums and found the Illinois post.  Live in Oswego, just west of Naperville.  I am at BPS about once a week.  I pass by there at least 4 times a week.  Hard to not stop by, they have a clearance bin all the time on plastics and cranks.  I fished Pondo at Mazonia, used to walk that area alot before they made it into a state park.  I fish alot in the local area, live minutes from the fox but I travel to Batavia and Geneva because of the eddies and backflows offer more bites.  If a meet and bs session is upon us, give at least a 2-3 week notice.  Couple of good breakfast places I know in that area.

Welcome Aboard Lee,

I use to live in Aurora and was 10 minutes from the Fox. Use to fish it every evening. Now I live in Frankfort and consider Pondo my home lake. Fishing was good there this year, had 30 fish days and my laergest was 4lb 6oz there. If any of you N. Illinois guys Ice Fish there is a charity Ice Fishng Tourney every year. Its called Walk on Water, maybe we can get together there and represent BR.

Another Central IL feller here.  I'm in Bloomington.  I haven't been around here much lately because I'm kind of a multi-species fisherman.  So I have been working a lot lately on Musky and crappie.  Now that musky has me THOUROUGHLY frustrated, we are headed out for basto's this weekend.  :)  Gonna make the trip to shelbyville tomorrow, as it looks like its going to be a really nice weekend!!

Another plainfielder here.

I'm shore bound and mainly fish neighborhood retention ponds.

heres my brother in law and his big bassto from this weekend at shelbyville!  Was a good fish!  My B-I-L is a bigger guy, so we are thinking this was a 3.5lb ....maybe just a hair bigger.  maybe.  :)

Just wanted to say Hey to all the IL fishing people. I'm back in Chicago on the far south side of the city and I was in Worth, IL which is southwest of the city. I pretty much fish within and hour or so of the southside and have made it to plainfield and some other small natural lakes in the area and even some of the small park lakes and ponds as well. Bass fishing is pretty much it for me but of course when you are fishing for bass u tend to catch a little of everthing at times.

Oh and my truck knows the way to Both the Cabelas in Hammond, IN and BPS in Portage, IN

Another Central Illinoisian here. In the big city of White Hall. Haven't been on in a while. I've fished Yeager a few times. Go through Litchfield frequently to fish a lot of tournaments in Vandalia. Went to Sangchris last Sunday and caught a few on a Shad Rap. Love that crankbait!!!

Another central illinois folk here!

Im in the big town of Charleston!

Ghoti i too go to the dam at shelbyville every once an awhile to hit up the musky. The one in my photo is from the dam there.

Ive hit up lake shelbyville for bass a few times, but i usually fish alot of ponds round my area. But hopefully this year ill be getting out to a bunch of different lakes.

Chicago. Northsider born and raised. Cubs fan (not sure how much longer) Spend alot of time on the Fox Chain and surrounding area lakes. Anyone else? P.M and we can swap B.S. If you love pressure and traffic the Chain is for you. Can't beat the scenery. :)

Morton IL here. 8 miles east of Downtown Peoria. Just moved here last summer and fished alot of small ponds in area. Moved from Danville, IL and fished Lake Vermilion alot.

Any of you Illinoisans planning on making the road trip to Kentucky Lake? I'm trying to get permission from the boss and if granted, might look to partner up with one of my brothers here.

P.M. if interested.

I can get permission only if I have someone to go with, let me know I am in Frankfort, just south of Tinley Park, originally for the South Side so I am a Sox fan. Have a boat and willing to travel.

I fished it off the bank one afternoon last summer.

Uncle Leo, Triton21 and Myself will do our best to represent our state at Kentucky Lake. If nothing else we'll have the best jokes to tell with our Governor as the punch line! :)

Blago the Insane, "Cookcoo"

As quoted by Mayor Daley of our fair city, Chicago

and it is that city that keeps putting all the coocoo's in office - need a good guy from the center or southern part of the state to be in office - rather than another member of the CHICAGO MACHINE .

Oh yeah - fixing to head up to Bass Pro in a few weeks if anybody wants to meet up .
