  1. Raul, great explanation. Thank you very much. Happy Holidays. Paul
  2. Thanks Raul. Can you explain the difference between the two, if there isn't much difference maybe explain characteristics good or bad. Also how do you set the centrifugal brake, if all plastic things are pushed out, does that mean it slows quicker or brake is inactive? Thanks. Paul
  3. I am not trying to start a debate, just looking for opinions about the braking system and two reels. I have used only baitcasters with magnetic braking systems, I am wondering if I switch to a Curado what will be the difference with the centrifugal braking system? I have used Revos, PT tours and BPS Johnny Morris, I really enjoy the JM and was thinking about buying two more of these but I like the feel of the Curado, reminds me of the Revos (size wize). What are your opinions about the Curado and JM? I would like to say that my only hang up is understanding or wondering if I will like the Curado braking system. Thanks for the help! Paul
  4. Try Ebay, thats where I got my manual
  5. From Plainfield, any bass fishing sounds good to me.
  6. WOW, thanks for the descriptive information. I will look at it this weekend and see if this works. Will Abu Garcia reel oil work inside there? Thank you very much ***!
  7. Purchased a Quantum Tour PT1160 reel. This was purchased to give as a gift. Took the nephew fishing with his new reel and right out of the box this thing squeals when casted. I tried different settings on the brake and the tension knob with no luck. I am hoping maybe some lube (oil/grease) in the right place will help. My only problem is where is the right place? Any help would be appreciated as I am slightly embarrassed giving a gift that doesn't perform up to standards. :-[
  8. Thanks for the info, I hate storing for the winter, no more fishing. :-[
  9. When some of you guys put the gear away for the winter, do you loosen the drag, turn off the brake and loosen tension knob? Not sure if it matters or not, want to hear some opinions. Thanks
  10. Thanks Raul for the great information. I will try to duplicate and see what happens.
  11. Are there any tactics you use for LMB while fishing strip pits. Shorelines are fairly straight with tall reeds. Fish seem to be under the reeds. Some of the pits have VERY clear water while others are murkey. Shorelines drop off immediately, middles range from 12' to 20'. Even though we have only managed a few bass, I would like to continue to go, have heard many stories how good this place is. Thanks for any info.
  12. fishcat, its not super tippy, the width is 68". I just had my wife with me and has to understand about moving around when I am leaning over the side. Good luck to you.
  13. I purchased a '89 Lund (one ding in the side) similar style as the one you are looking at, it included the following: -2000 Mercury 25hp (runs excellent) -Minn kota auto pilot 42lbs trolling motor -all new decking and carpet -Biminin top (new) -Trailor is in excellent condition customized with new rims and tires -2 batteries -battery charger -3 seats -three storage bins The bad: -no livewell -little tippy with new a new fishing buddy -no rod storage. Very happy since this is my first boat, paid $3200. I think it is a good time to buy boats right now.
