Hey guys, I'm thinking about making a rod rack for my "fishing room" and I was wondering if I could get some advice or ideas, and or pics of what anyone of you have made? Thanks

May I suggest viewing the different rod racks in the BPS catalog?

When the new store opens in Richmond I plan to use my Outdoor Rewards points and pick up the one with the three drawers and the rod holders on each side.

After viewing the various models we know you can come up with a few ideas.  

For the first one I built, I took a stand up rifle rack, and modified the design to fit my rods, then went all out and picked up some red cedar and built it.....  worked great.  Then a buddy offered me more money than I could turn down....

Here's one I built with some PVC pipe and leftover lumber. It functions well, but not much to look at.

Hey thanks guys.  I have looked at Bass Pro, but I just want the satisfaction of making it myself.  We're moving into a new house and I get one of the bedrooms for whatever I want!!  yay ;D

Do you have any clips that secure the upper part of the rod too?

My Dad, is in the process of making me a round rod holder but ran into a snag. He can't find any clips to secure the rod. Anyone have any input on where we can find these?

Sorry, I don't secure the tips. I just slide the rod into the base.

when i made mine i took a relly bid hook gut the bard off and bent the eye of the hook then put a hook and a washer so the hook can do a 360 works very good

The rod holder I currently have is set up like that and works well for me. I mentioned the hook method to Dad but his vision of the rod holder he wants to make me is with the clips (he's a master carpenter by trade). He tried ordering clips where he works but they didn't have what he wanted.

on the long rack i built where you cut out the upper groove for rod i used willow leaf spinner bait blades and screwed them to top round rail and use them as a turn up to close rod gap so they dont fall out

have not finished this round rack   got to put blades on to hold rods in at top
