It's Time To Plant My Garden....

Featured Replies

Great looking gardens.

If you like to try new and different tomatoes and peppers, I suggest a site named "Totally tomatoes".  They have over 100 different tomatoes and at least that many peppers.  All colors, sizes and shapes.  One of my favorite tomatoes is the little Yellow Pear.  Prolific and delicious.

I tried the container tomatoes and have never had much success.  We are trying some corn that was developed to grow in a container so we will see how that goes....

On a related note, i finished all my planting this morning so hopefully in a week or two i will see some plants pushing through and hopefully the rabbits stay away.

You can "do away" with them as long as your are on your own land year-round in VA if they become a problem.

No problems with critters eating my maters, but the birds like to poop on them.

So I cut a piece of wire a foot long twist one end around the stake near the top, bend it up

over the middle top so the birds can`t land on it.

I have a stand of bamboo trees nearby that make nice stakes to tie to.

Like wise on my sidewalk lights that equates to the birds toilet,or used to.

I put  a 4" drywall screw top center of each one. Even the sparrows can`t defeat them.
