crankbait making

Featured Replies

I want to start getting into making cranks, wake baits, and swim baits. I have been looking into it on here and looking through all those sticky posts and others but havn't really found what I'm looking for. I'm going to have to be starting from scratch with no tools or anything. Is there a list someone can give me of what all i will need, including any kind of tool. Thanks!;)

Get a piece of basswood, a wood file, a scroll saw, a drill + bits, some 18-19 gauge stainless steel wire, lead dropshot sinkers for weight, and some acrylic paints and paint brushes and you should be able to make some decent baits with practice.

Just look through these posts and you'll learn a thing or two.  Good luck.  I'm pretty new at it myself and it's ADDICTING!   ;D Have fun.

The TackleUnderground is another great resource for you. Just google it.  ;)
