Peacock Bass In Boca Raton

Featured Replies

Hey I have caught only two peacocks in one area and they seem to have disappeared. I still manage to catch largemouth at the same spot but the peas have vanished (fished about 5 more times is same spot) anybody know where a God spot for peacock bass in boca?

They have disappeared around here too, once the mayans get off the beds the peas should turn back on.  Catching quite a few mayans now and for a small fish give great fight.

Ran into a guy yesterday at the ocean, told me he had caught peacocks a few weeks ago at the Boca Rio canal.

He was using a fly rod.  I know the place well, haven't been there in years but have caught some really nice bass there.  Being public with lots of parking access (boat launch too) it's a popular place, you can easily space yourself away from other fisherman.

Thanks so much for the information! Where it's the spot?

The spot I don't know, he did say he caught the fish near Glades.

If I were to fish there I would try several places, north of Glades near the bridge and I would walk up to the bridge near the turnpike off ramp.  South of Glades near the bridge.  I would also try driving down to SW 18 th, park on the grass next to the canal (boat ramp there), walk all the way down to the spillway.  The water there usually seems to have less vegetation, have caught nice bass there.
