I want to get 4 Wooden Jitterbugs made

Hey Tackle Making Mooks:I would like to send someone 4 of the current made plastic Jitterbugs ( 5/8 0unce) to have them duplicated in wood, painted black and then you can use the hardware and lips from the platic ones to put on the wooden ones. I will attach my own hooks when i get them back. Is this possible, anyone want to give this a try?

why do you want them made in wood instead of plastic?

The 2 older ones I had, floated differently on the water, and I really like the boyancy of wood vs plastic. I am planning on purging all my hard plastics, come income tax time and swithing over to all wood hard baits. That's actually what I grew up with

Since over 50% of my hard baits are Rapalas, that will not be hard to do. Just a prefrence Dave, old habits die hard

Wood baits do float and act differently than plastic baits. I like them for some topwaters and for crankbaits I fish through the timber. Mook I'm sure somebody will either be able to take care of it for you or be able to point you in the right direction.

If you haven't already, ask this over at TackleUnderground.

Thanks, I got a local guy to do it. I have always seen him with some nice cranks, I had no idea he was carving them himself.

Muddy!  jitterbugs aren't the easyest to master but you can make one heck of alot of wood lures with little experience . I would have done the project for you but I stopped making big game fish lures as mapping picked up. Would be glad to share the easy start up for you and you know my e-mail address now also. The toughest part about making any lure is the ballance and action of the lure.  I only use wood lures if I do fish.   Mark!
