Some Pics From Today!

Featured Replies

We got on the water at about 8 am today for some tourny practice and the bite was real slow, as it has been the past week. I didn't manage to get any but my partner Jeff did. The good thing is I think we found where the big ones are holding. I wanted to share how beautiful these smallies were. They were some lunkers too!

Nice Smallies!!! Thanks for sharing.. Just curious, what lake were you fishing, Candlewood?

Those are some beautiful fish! The first four shots are great looking pics.(just be careful bending a fish's jaw like that.)

The angle of the pic makes it look worse then It is. Wasn't much pressure on its jaw. It does lookike that in the pic though.

Yes sir. The wonderful lake candlewood. I love this lake!

No worries. I catch myself all the time, it's just natural I guess. I think its a bigger deal with Largemouth. Those are some killer Smallies though. But for everyone, an FYI...post-46189-0-38091500-1389775450_zpshb0h

Even from how it looks worse in the pictures, according to that is still be in the "safe zone". Either way these fish were fine and released.

What did you use to take those first four pics, the fish look so vibrant?

Beautiful fish. We don't have many small mouths around here. Would love to catch one.

A allies are gorgeous aren't they? I love the way they look.

Just my iPhone with no filter. These fish were literally that vibrant. It's amazing how vivid the smallies in candlewood are. Some of the most beautiful fish I've ever seen. The perch in candlewood are beautiful too. Next time I catch a jumbo I'll post up some pics. The perch are so vibrantly colored it will blow your mind. Candlewood is one of kind. If you haven't had the chance to fish it you're really missing out.

I will definitely check it out, because I've caught a lot of smallies, none have looked like that, especially the variation.

It really is pretty amazing. I'll be sharing many more photos throughout the year so you'll get to see all the different variations of smallies in my area. I personally enjoy catching smallies more then any other bass. I just wish they got as big as the largemouth and spots.

Sweet! Candlewood lake is on my bucket list to fish. Not to hijack your thread but I was born at the Danbury Hospital! :eyebrows:  Still have lots of family in the region..

Had the fish been in a livewell? If you put any bass in a livewell with clear water they will get those colors. Stress colors

These were taken just after catching them.

Wow that is crazy. I have had some look like that if I fight them for a long time on light line and then keep them in a net to revive them before photos
