Ipilot & Hummingbird Info.

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about getting a new minnkota TM that is ipilot compatible for my river jet. Can I use my Hummingbird 386 with GPS with the ipilot? I only want to use the spot lock feature. Do I need to connect to a gps fish finder or does the ipilot have an internal gps? Any info. On this would be great.

The iPilot has it's own built in GPS.

The iPilot feature that uses a sonar connection is the iPilot Link. That takes a unit that is Ethernet capable.

That feature uses the Lakemaster digital mapping to tell the motor to follow a map depth contour line.

So if I buy the ipilot add on I do not need to hook up to a fish finder to use the spot lock?

No.

I use the spot lock all the time and I'm not hooked up to any finders

You do know that if you ad iPilot to a trolling motor that you lose the foot pedal. It will only operate with the hand operated remote control.

This only applies to the V2 Ipilot does not affect the Terrova foot pedal
