Has Moss / Aquatic Vegetation Gotten Worse Over Your Lifetime?

Josh, there are many more food sources available in plant life than in dead wood, hence why the fish are in the vegetation.. Lots of life in the "weeds" plankton, insects, grass shrimp draw bluegills, bluegills can draw LMB. Bass also feed on insects, grass shrimp etc.. Wood is decaying and has little value in the grand scheme of things,

99 out of 100 times I will fish the salad over dead water logged wood.. Vegetation offers much, higher O2 levels, hiding, ambush points, life cycles begin & end here for many life types.. If a lake is void of vegetation, Rocks first, followed by wood.. If no vegetation, rocks, or wood, go to the shooting range instead of fishing, lol

Yes, Sir, and at this point in my life I'm glad to have the salad take over.

I'm being forced to learn new techniques, and I always have had a need to learn.  The bass are so much healthier than they were in the past that it's worth it.

The one downside is that I believe the concentrations to be on the other side of where I can fish without a boat.  I'm trying to find some vacation time to finally finish boat repairs and get over there!
