Avid X

Featured Replies

Anyone have the Avid X? How does it compare with the original Avid or Rage?

I have the spinning rod version of the avid x.  It is a really nice rod.  Little bit lighter than the regular avid and the guides are different.

both avid's are great rods, I don't have the regular avid but have 3 avid X's. I love the kigan micro guides. To me, they are the perfect micro guide. I also really like the handle design and foregrip. They are great rods and I will be getting a few more next tw sale

I just bought an Avid X bait casting rod - 6'-8" Medium XF.  Agree with he above poster about the guides, they seem perfect.  Love this rod for throwing plastics and jerk baits.  Bought it after looking at *** Black.  More expensive but more sensitive, lighter.  I also have a Rage spinning rod of the same length and tip action.  Great blank but the grip is flawed - the handle is nice but 4 of your 5 fingers are on the reel seat or threads, and not even on the grip itself.

Sounds like the Avid series is the way to go.
