Senkos...

Featured Replies

I always hear people say that if there is one bait that is "fool proof" its a senko.

Iv caught plenty of bass on them, I'm not new to them by any means, but the past year and a half Iv caught ZERO fish on senkos.. And not for lack of trying.

Just wondering, how do you guys work these things? Drag, hop, etc? I wonder sometimes if I work them too fast or wrong completely. Just wanna get back into them. They used to be a confidence bait...

A lot depends on where you are fishing, what are the conditions and which species you seek. Use varies with those kind of variables.

My fav. way is to dead stick or dropshot them..it's boring as heck..but it works

Cue check the sticky threads and Mod Lock in 3...2...1...

You forgot to add IBTL..

Thanks for your contribution.

I've started to use them only Wacky Rigged or Dead Sticked. Both these methods have proven to be completely reliable in the waters I fish. I never use them weighted Texas Rigged anymore as I've found straight Ringed Worms( Grande Bass Rattlesnake, Big Bite Baits Coontail ) to out fish them by a wide Margin. YMMV. Brian.

Dude. Fish them wacky rigged or texas rigged. On a jighead or regular weight. Just fish them. I like them weightless wacky the best, I retrieve like a fluke with my rod tip down and short jerks.

X2. Drop shots and wacky rigs always work with senkos.

I would have to say weightless wacky is probably my favorite way to do it but I work mine a little different than Senko lover. I cast out and let it sink and keep my rod tip high, pop it up a few times and let it drop again,I usually work this very slowly. Definitely going to try fishing it like a fluke now though to switch it up and see how it works for me.

Weightless!!!!!!   drag 'em real slow texas rigged... worms dont jump around on the bottom

and get GY senkos they are worth every penny

The vast majority of the time I fish them

weightless and wacky rigged.

Personally, the 4" variety have far outfished

the 5" and up varieties.

And for wacky, I mostly let the worm do the

work on the fall - then I'll lift, sometimes I'll

twitch/lift to give the bait more action.

For brands, obviously the Gary Yamamoto

original is the standard bearer, but I mostly

fish Bass Pro Stik-Os now.

That is my backup retrieve, in particular when I want to slow down near some cover. I also like drooping my line over a branch and yo-yoing the bait in place, that's produced some nice bass for me.
