I've shimmed or sanded down the spool tip pads on the side plate side(not the cast control cap side)before to get level line lay. It usually doesn't take much, you just need to move the spool in the direction of the stacking. Brian.

I'm with FloridaFishingFool on this one. I use 2 ARK Lancer Pro's 7'2" Hvy/Fast, got them on the BOGO Deal. They're in my Florida Kit and if I blow one up, I'm out $50. They're both strong, sensitive, comfortable, and will launch Frogs. They don't make Dudes at the ramp swoon with a $250-$400 price tag, and a high end name. But they work, day in and day out, and I don't spare the whip!! Brian.

Just use a small pick to snap it off and small needle nose to put it back on. Easy Peasy, just rebuilt my 16 Met with all new support bearings, Hedgehog Air spool bearings and a new gear set. She was getting a touch Raspy. Brian.

My Daughter Megan came down to my fishing room one day while I was cleaning a reel. She sat down at the bench I was sitting at and just watched.
