I have a baitcaster, which has a line guide that bounces up and down while retrieving. The reel overall is in great shape mechanically and cosmetically as well.

The line guide itself still does go back and forth on the worm gear. However, even when fully tightened, the line guide still bounces up and down while retrieving.

Any thoughts on a possible resolution to this issue will be much appreciated.

If its operating properly I wouldn't worry about it...what reel is it?

Shimano Curado Bantam CU-201B5 is the reel

There's nothing that "tightens" this to anything. There's a cap that holds the pawl, but go too tight, and it breaks. Most line guides are a bit loose, but I'm not sure what you mean by bounce?
