Baitcasting Reel Very Hard To Reel In

Featured Replies

I took my baitcasting reel apart and I'm sure that I put something together wring. My baitcaster seems as though when I I tighten the drag more the reel becomes harder and harder to reel in any suggestions?

Sounds like you have the one way bearing(the needle bearing) pushed into far and when you tighten the drag it is pressing it into the main gear. If that makes any since to you. Happened to me once or twice maybe...lol

Thanks so much your a life saver that's exactly what it is now that I look at it. I've been stressed out about it for the last couple of days lol. But the only thing is how do I shove it in more cause it's only going in a little but it's sticking out too much like you said.

Find a socket that will cover it up and use it to press against it to press it back in.
