I Need Rod Recommendations

Featured Replies

I currently have a falcon bucoo medium-fast 7 ft casting.

I also have a 6'10 medium -heavy falcon bucoo casting rod.

I have a reel left over that i want to buy a rod for. What power or taper would you guy recommend? I already have a swimbait set up also.

Im looking to throw 3/4 jigs and carolinas.

Thanks for your help

Assume you are looking for a casting rod.  What kind of money are you willing to spend?

Is there a brand preference?  Do you have a length preference? I ask because on the low end of your price range you can get a Fenwick HMG 7' MH-F rated 3/8oz to 1oz, you get a lot of rod for $100 that will give you a great mix of sensitivity and power with a lifetime warranty. At the other end of your price range you can grab a Daiwa Tatula 7'1" MH-XF rated 1/4oz to 1oz, I don't own one but I know those who do and the rod is considered excellent and should cost a lot more.

I like falcon, shimano, duckett. Brand dosent really matter. Size id like anywere from 6'10 to 7'3. Also i fish from a boat

I would highly recommend a 7'3 Medium Heavy Duckett Micro Magic Pro. It is a very good rod that will cover many types of baits. Well balanced and sensitive. I'm sure others could recommend other good rod's too.

i would recommend a 7'3" *** heavy rod. well in your price range and is quite sensitive.

I bought my 3 Tatula rods for $100 or less.  The used one was $100, while the 2 new ones were less than $100 with tax.....from Walmart Online.  Free shipping to a store near you.  They don't have those deals anymore, tho.  Nice rods.  Am kicking myself for not getting the 7'4" HF when they were listed for $114.97.  :sad78:
