epoxy help

Featured Replies

alright i've gone out and had to special order devcon 2 ton epoxy since nobody stocks it. i tried a small batch to coat one jig as an experiment but found it a little thick to work with. has anyone tried to thin it with thinner or some type of alcohol so it can be brushed on and easier to work with, and what were the results? i thought i'd ask before i experiment since i have to special order devcon.

thanks

You really don't want to dilute Devcon. I use it on my jigs and spinnerbaits as is, and it is fine and dries hard as a rock. The only time I would dilute it is when I'm making crankbaits and using it as a wood sealer. You can also dilute it with denatured alcohol. The reason I say not to dilute the devcon, is because I believe it compromises or weakens the epoxy.....This is just my opinion.
