If U Use Eva, What Size But Cap Do U Like To Use

I ordered the #1 from MH , it's 1/2" ID x 1-3/4" OD. It's bigger than I taught. I ordered the 1/2" because the rod blank I cut is around .527" , what should I do or should have ordered , I like a smaller one???

    Wow, that is big. Typically I make them around 1 1/8" Dia x 1.5"-2" long.

    Put a 1/2" dowel in a drill, stick the butt cap on it, set it spinning and sand it down.

    Cut about 3" off butt, only had a sanding block to shave down butt, cut the butt cap shorter

    i use that EVA tapered butt cap on all my rods that have a blank dia. of .500 or more which most are , for my spinning rods i use the 3/8th x 1 3/8th.
