Do I Need To Coat My Lures After Airbrushing

Featured Replies

Do i need to have a clear coat after im done airbrushing my spinner blades?

Depend on what kind of paint you used. If you used water base like Createx then yes you do. If you used lacquer paint then no you don't.

You could probably get away with spraying on some poly.

I paint blades with water based airbrush paint and then topcoat them with a moisture cured urethane topcoat like Dick Nite S81 lurecoat.  It's the best topcoat for metal blades.

For durability, I would always clear paint. the fact that the lure will get hit with rocks, teeth, boat, and the occasional innocent bystander.....You don't want your nice paint to chip.
