Cutting cork

Featured Replies

I have a Crucial DS rod and the fore drip has a notch in the cork where the blank is exposed.  I really think it makes the rod more sensitive.  So I was thinking about doing the same thing to a St. Croix premeire I have.  How should I go about doing this?  Cut out the notch with a razor blade, then sand it down to the blank?  Should I coat the blank with something when it becomes exposed?

if your going to use a razor blade be d amn sure not to knick or cut into the blank.id shape out the detail you want with a scalpel or hobby knife then sand it smooth with a very high grit paper then seal the cork and put some epoxy on the newly exposed rod. and then let us know how she turns out..post pics

Besides messing up the rods 5 yr. warranty.

If you just have to cut, then remove all of the foregrip cork..

There will be less chance of you nicking the blank, and will be easier to clean up the old epoxy and finish.

Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!

How would you recommend I remove the whole fore grip?
