I will be visiting LA in two weeks.  Bringing my son out from Ohio for college visits.  Stone Canyon is close to where we will be staying.  Just wondering if there is any access to fish it from shore?  I am open to driving, but just in case I don't find any other places to fish, this looks close...

 

Info was limited in my search, so help is appreciated.

    That is a DWP water storage reservior closed to the public. You will see several of those DWP lakes in the SoCal area that you can't fish.

    Sorry!

    Best bet is Castaic, Castaic lagoon, Casitas or Pyrimide, they all require a CA fishing license!

    A 1 day ocean trip would be a good experience, the fishing is excellent now.

    Yeah unfortunately the West can be pretty bad about not allowing access to public owned lakes. Stone Canyon and Mathews are two in that area that are unfortunately closed for no reason, especially with other nearby lakes in the same chain open. 

     

    Colorado is horrible for this too.
