Can Anyone Tell Me About These Old Bass Rods/reels

Featured Replies

My Grandpa's fishing equipment from back in the day. Was wondering how old They are. And if they were good for their time. They feel really smooth. He has a ton of old bass plugs some probably 50 years old. Rest in peace Poppa.

Tag, for when I get to the computer.

Hello,

The Ted Williams looks like it's made by Abu Garcia.  I'm not sure of this, but everything looks right.  Does it say "made in Sweden" anywhere?

The Lew's is excellent.  Probably fiberglass.  I still use Dad's Lew's Speed Stick from the '70s, combined with a 5500 (no C) for deep crankbaits.

Most Lew's stuff from back then was made by Shimano.

Regards,

Josh

Daiwa made the Ted Williams reels.

I was gonna say it looks like a Millionaire.

That's pretty cool to know. I always thought Daiwa used block-type buttons and not L-type. Learned something new!
