These Are The Rods I've Bought So Far, What Techniques Do I Have Covered?

Featured Replies

So, I'm starting to get some gear together and get back into fishing. So far I have a 6'10" h2o xtreme ethos MH and a 7'3" extreme ethos ML, both bought for less than $40 total on clearance at Academy. I have a Pflueger President 6930B. I will probably get another president and am looking at a baitcasting set up as well.

What will those two rods cover? I want to be able to throw as many techniques as possible with a three rod set up. If I went with a 7' MH baitcasting  set up, would there be any glaring holes in my gear?

U practically can throw anything on the medium heavy. Except really heavy lures or fish in heavy weeds. Medium light would take care of your finesse stuff.

-6'10" mh would put on a lighter jigs and Texas rigs 1/4 oz and under with 8 to 12 lb line or 15 to 20 lb braid. Any lure as long as it meets the specs of your rod.

-7'3" ml will be split shot rigs, weightless soft plastics with lighter wire hooks. 6 to 8 lb line or 10 to 15 lb braid.

You do cover alot and majority for just getting back into fishing. just not the heavy stuff like heavycover fishing. Hope this helped ya

If you haven't used those ethos rods before I'm sure you will be satisfied they are fantastic rods for the money.
