Making my own jigs

Featured Replies

I've decided that i am going to start making my own jigs. I do have a couple of questions.

1) Does the color of the skirt make a difference. I am going to start with basic colors:blue/black/green/brown, and maybe add few strands of other colors as well. Would you recommend any other colors? Where would you recommend I get the skirts from?

2)I'm going to use a do it mold for an arky jig with the double collar. I know I can get the lead on ebay. Where are some other sources for lead? Also, I plan on melting the lead and making these jigs in my garage, and there is no window. Will I need to open the garage door for ventilation?

Any other advice on this process would be helpful. Thanks.

Get your skirts from fishingskirts .com, and watch the video in the bottom left corner. You will also need a skirt tool and bands.

To start out with, get your jigheads from GMAN.
