Hand pooring plastics

Featured Replies

I have just started hand pouring and would like to reproduce a motor oil color similar to Zooms. Does anyone have any ideas or recipes? I love this color but everything I have is different.

Motor oil color is usually 12-14 drops yellow mix with a drop or two of black.

It's hard as heck to copy somebody else color down to the drop, but you can get close if you experiment.

Bears Baits sells a motor oil colorant for plastics. Maybe it's close to what you want to reproduce.

I can't post the link because I don't have 10 posts yet, just google bearsbaits, he is the first one that comes up.

My favorite motoroil is from BearsBaits. I have LC and M-F, and hands down, his is the best IMO.
