Opinions On Purchasing 2013 Lowe Stinger 175 $12K

Featured Replies

Hello all! I am new to site. I have been reading the forums as a way of doing my "research" before I purchase a boat. We fish a private lake in CA. We've brought friends boats out on the lake before (a ranger) and would like one of our own. My plan is to surprise my fiancé with a new boat. I am leaning towards used based on what I have learned in my research and prefer aluminum. I found a 2013 Lowe Stinger 175 for $12k on Craigslist. The gentlemen said he purchased new for $18k after he retired and then his fishing buddy passed away so he's lost interest. It's been in the water once for about 30 minutes. He took it to a boat shop to have the fuel drained. It's 60 hp and 17.5 foot long. I don't know what's on it in terms of trolling motor, fish finder, live well, etc. Yall have an suggestions? Sound like a good deal? I appreciate any feedback! Thank you!

You can get much better used boats for that price.

The pricing in inline for that boat. Have someone qualified take a look at the motor. If the story of being on the water for 1/2hr is true, the motor was never broken in. If it wasn't stored properly, you could have rust internally and varnish in the carbs/injectors
